#1 Principle

Its most compact expression would be:

“Nothing is always absolutely so.” and is called Sturgeon’s Law.

It stands for multiple conclusions, depending on which general characteristic we are stressing:

  1. Nothing is always absolutely so. As in, nothing made by man has these properties.
  2. Nothing is always absolutely so. As in, nothing is eternal.
  3. Nothing is always absolutely so. As in, nothing is an expression of an absolute truth.

How much is said in few words. The main point is that the human mind is corruptible, without exception. When you think you’ve come to a conclusion that can withstand the passing of time, or any change of reference, you’ve surely failed miserably somewhere…

The immature conclusion would be something of the sort of “don’t trust anything or anyone”. No, that would be paranoia. The logical conclusion would be “never say never”. Or “always” or “forever”, for that matter.

There will be situations when you need to be consequent and give an impression that you confide in something, for your (or someone else’s) good, but in most cases over-confidence is a trait of an immature mind.

Most of you would probably recognise these words:

“If you place a thing
Into the center of your life
That lacks the power to nourish,
It will eventually poison
Everything that you are
And destroy you.

As simple a thing as an idea
Or your perspective
On yourself of the world;
No one can be
The source of your content,
It lies within, in the center.”

It’s essentially the same idea; the last part needs later discussion - it refers to a different topic, namely the achievent of happiness in life.

  1. Nothing is always absolutely so, first thing i thaught of when i heard it was that perspective has a way of varying to great degrees, and that not even ‘red’ is ‘completely red’ to those who are colourblind. Metaphoricaly, ofcourse.
And if you go into the topic of why and how one may be happy… it’s going to be a loooong night. :) maybe you can help me make up my mind… i’m not certain yet.

  2. [...] “go with the flow” nu merge; nu foarte des, cel puţin; că “ne descurcăm şi ca amici şi ca iubiţi” … da, e evident, dar când nu mai merge “ca iubiţi” nu prea mai merge nici “ca amici”; din nou, nu zic că nu pot exista excepţii, dar ca să nu mă repet mai citiţi aici; [...]
